New bachi for Tsugaru playing style. This is an unusual bachi suitable for beginners or students. Compared to the other plastic blade bachi offered, this bachi has a more flexible blade that will produce a nice snappy sound. The plastic is wedged between two pieces of wood that make the handle wonderfully comfortable to grab. I use this bachi too, especially for demonstrating techniques against with my synthetic black skinned shamisen. I love the very cool dsign and that it combines wood and sturdy yet flexible plastic that gives a nice snappy sound when playing. It’s also not too long and pretty lightweight – perfect for my hands.

If you’re just starting out with playing the shamisen: It’s pretty common that the bachi feels a bit weird at the beginning. But it should not cause any pain – neither in wrist nor in any of the fingers of your bachi hand. Please make sure not to grip the bachi handle when playing but to have the bachi wedged in your hand in a relaxed way (I know, it’s hard! But that really is the key to a healthy swing, painless play and a great tone).
