The twisted unicorn itomaki (called “rasen itomaki” in Japan) are so popular that I consider them as the classic deluxe choice. Crafted from ebony wood, they radiate a hypnotizing gleam from their spiraled shape. Extremely comfortable to grip for tuning, this design is my personal favorite.
The size fits Futozao Shamisen such as Tsugaru Shamisen. These itomaki are new and have to be fitted to your shamisen’s zagane for a perfect fit. These itomaki are sold as a full set of three.
