Kurotomesode with Drums and Flutes

Authentic Japanese kimono with five mon (crests). This item is vintage but in fantastic condition. There’s only some very small brown specks on the inside – completely invisible when you wear or display it (see photos).

This kimono is actually two kimonos in one: It has a full white inner kimono sewn into the main kimono. The main kimono itself has its own white lining. Everything is made of silk! The outer black kimono is super soft chirimen silk – that’s the silk with a smooth yet grippy texture and a very luxurious subtle sheen (my personal favorite).

The drums and flute are hand-embroidered – just look at the detail! You can really see the cords’ structure by the way it was embroidered. Every drum has a different decorative pattern and the way the cords curve and tangle looks truly life-like! How gorgeous is that?? There’s also two flutes, one inside a kimono-style sleeve. I love it!!

As a musician, I am especially fond of kimono with music and theater themes. I think this kimono ist super stunning! This is a piece of Japanese art you can wear or hang on your wall to have a stunning eye-catcher in your home.
