Learn how to play the five mini songs from Ghost of Yōtei on Shamisen!
Each song comes with a play along mp3 for you to practice with.
Techniques: sukui (upstroke), uchi (hammer-on), hajiki (pull-off), suri (slide), oshibachi, strums
Tuning:
Attention: The original mini songs are in basic tunings, but over a higher or lower base:
- Song of Shrines, Song of Vanity, Song of Revenge: Niagari D3-A3-D4 (higher than usual)
- Song of the Ainu: Niagari C3-G3-C4 (same as usual)

Song of the Wolf: Honchōshi A2-D3-A3 (lower than usual)
If you’re not comfortable with switching your tuning that much, you can use the usual tunings you might be used to from other songs. Beware: Your pitch will be different from the play along mp3s.
These are the more usual pitches for the tunings:
- Honchōshi: C3-F3-C4
- Niagari: C3-G3-C4
