Kimono with Kikko

Authentic Japanese kimono with classic kikko-pattern. This item is vintage but in excellent condition.

This kimono is made from synthetic fabric which makes it extra easy to care for. The base color is black, and woven in is a kikko pattern in blue, red, yellow, and green. Kikko is a classical Japanese graphic design symbolizing turtle shells and signifying good luck. The lining has a super beautiful orange part at the hem that show when you’re walking! 

To weave in the pattern, the threads are dyed before weaving them into the actual fabric. That’s how this slightly blurry effect is created.
